Relational therapy for your unique needs.
Experience & Approach
After two decades of working in various churches in three countries and two continents, I decided to further my vocation of being a helper by becoming a counselor. I did my clinical internship and worked as a mental health clinician at Compass Health in Arlington. There I offered counseling services to children, adolescents, and families with a wide range of concerns, including behavioral issues, neurodivergence issues, anxiety, and depression.
The reason I am a counselor is simple: I believe every person can achieve their own mental health and that psychotherapy is one of the best tools to assist a person in that pursuit. At the heart of mental health is the ability to love, accept, and embrace oneself, to do the same for others, and to have others do the same for us. My approach to psychotherapy is relational. I believe psychotherapy works when the particularity of my person, as a multiracial immigrant, is able to meet you in the particularity of your identity and place in the world, and together we create a meaningful and collaborative partnership in order to empower you to achieve your mental health goals.
As every individual is unique, I do not subscribe exclusively to one therapeutic modality, but I am committed to tailoring therapy to fit your particular personality and needs. The therapeutic modalities I primarily operate out of are relational psychoanalysis, mindfulness-based therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), trauma-informed CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and internal family systems therapy (IFS). I am a certified CBT+ practitioner.
